Worms this month

👉 Check any pre-lambing/kidding or calving females and use the ParaBoss drench decision guide to assist decision making.
👉 Remember to keep an eye on the efficacy of drenches by doing a drench check 10-14 days after treatment. An effective drench gives greater than 95% reduction in WEC.
👉 If using a long-acting drench – primer and tail cutter doses are ESSENTIAL to ensure you don’t fast track resistance to the active in the LA product.

Get started on your strategy for effective Barbers pole worm management this spring with the AWI and ParaBoss collaboration webinar on 18 August at 1pm.

Flies this month

It may seem early for many – but nobody’s ever been worse off by being on the front foot with fly management… especially sheep producers. This might be as simple as looking at the ParaBoss tools to check on treatment options.

👉 Be mindful of chemical rotation to minimise resistance developing.

Sheep producers can attend an AWI flystrike update webinar which ParaBoss are proudly hosting in collaboration with AWI – Its Fly Time! On 16 August at 1pm, to get a seasonal update on flies.

With the wet weather along the East coast, flies are going to be busy! If you are looking at some serious and highly practical forward planning, get yourself along to an AWI SimpliFly workshop
Ticks this month

Wet and mild weather are ideal for ticks, prior planning and preparation are important. Similarly, if you are in an area that is not a usual tick area, keep an eye out, as wet seasons are helping these biting parasites with their movement to new areas!

Lice this month

Its timely to tidy up any lice infestations in cattle. Be mindful of product choice and the pathway to chemical resistance of lice, worms, flies, and ticks!

👉 Watch our most recent webinar on effective management and control of lice in sheep, cattle and goats for more tips here.
