Controlling buffalo flies and fly lesions: What have we learned?

11 June @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join the ParaBoss extension team as we take you on a journey to minimise the impact that buffalo flies have in your herds.

Buffalo flies are now ranked as the costliest health issue in Australia’s northern cattle industries and are extending their range into southern production areas.

They cause reductions in weight gain and milk production loss, decrease skin quality and have been suggested to disrupt mating and reduce ease of management through the substantial irritation caused by their bites.

Lesions associated with buffalo fly infestation are also an important issue, causing rejection of cattle from some markets and decreased value in the saleyards.

Dr Peter James will delve deep into issues in the management of buffalo flies and lesions and the implications of outcomes from recent research.

We look forward to you joining us for what will be an informative overview, along with some excellent signposts to tools that you can use.

There will be ample time for questions, so we encourage you to ask.

As always, we encourage you to send in any questions to extension@paraboss.com.au or ask them real-time in the webinar!
