SubscribeThe winter months are peak time for the scour worms – and indications are that they are having a busy time in many areas. Our recent webinar on Black Scour worm was well-attended and Dr Andrew Whale gave a great insight into the parasite and how it can be managed in your flock or herd. Check out the recording here.
Our tips for this upcoming month:
👉 Test – don’t guess!! The key activity is to worm test to keep an eye on worms in your livestock. If you haven’t undertaken a check for resistance recently, consider conducting a drench check to give you an up-to-date reflection of the effectiveness of your drenches.
👉 Remember to always drench to the heaviest in the mob (draft if large variation in weight), calibrate your equipment and follow the label instructions, and observe Witholding Periods, and Export Slaughter Intervals. You can find key information and product labels on the ParaBoss website.
👉 If undertaking lice management/treatment, check out the tips and tricks article below. Product information and labels are also available if you are unsure of the finer details of the product. Find them here.
An important tip for producers taking care of lice this winter with chemicals, consider your options for spring fly prevention/control, or worm or tick control, and ensure you are rotating the chemical groups to minimise the possibility of developing chemical resistance!
