SUMMARY:Cattle Parasite Management Workshop – Pilot 4
DESCRIPTION:Understanding the pressing need for targeted\, effective on-farm parasite management solutions for northern cattle operations\, the ParaBoss extension team has custom-designed one-day workshops aimed at empowering producers by improving the management of external and internal parasites in cattle herds in the north. \nDue to the ongoing wet season conditions\, buffalo fly\, and cattle tick are particularly problematic at present\, and this workshop covers these important parasites in detail and allows workshop attendees to consider their control activities within the context of the complete suite of parasites local to their area. \nFollowing the successful parasite management in cattle workshops in 2023 and early 2024\, this new workshop will aim to enhance attendees’ knowledge based on the extensive feedback provided in 3 pilots. \nAttendance is free of charge\, and all workshop resources and catering will be supplied on the day. Places are limited to ensure excellent interaction between presenters and attendees. \nWe look forward to you joining us at the pilot. Please register here: https://bit.ly/4ag0Mk0 \nThe workshop will facilitate: \n\nAn improvement in overall skills and confidence of cattle producers in their understanding of internal and external parasite management\nImprove access by producers to key sources of information\nLess production losses/mortality from parasites in herds\nIncreased effectiveness of parasiticides and drenches\nDecreased impacts of chemical resistance in all parasites\n\nRSVP is essential – and the workshop numbers will be capped. Attendees will be registered on a first-in\, best-dressed basis. \nPlease do not hesitate to contact Megan Rogers\, ParaBoss Extension on 0427 459 891\, should you have any questions.
